In February 1993 Chromacolour International Limited turned its technical expertise and success in the Cel Paint industry toward the development of a new paint for professional and hobby artists. This new product received rave reviews from the professional artists who were involved in initial trials. During initial marketing trials in the UK, we obtained tremendous results! All of the artists who were involved in these initial trials have remained loyal customers, and now produce the majority of their works with Chromacolour Artist Colours. Encouraged by this amazing response, we set up a manufacturing and distribution facility in North America in order to better serve this important market.

Chromacolour International Limited's background actually lies in the fantasy world of cartoon animation. Fifteen years ago we developed a revolutionary paint that for the first time brought colour consistency, opacity, durability and a brilliant colour selection to an industry that was just beginning to blossom into the worldwide business we are all familiar with today.

Within six months of identifying the concerns of the producers, we had produced a range of 500 brilliant, pigment rich colours, that overcame all their major problems and concerns. In addition to this we were the only supplier in this industry able to guarantee colour consistency not only from scene to scene, but from movie to movie.

Over fifteen years later, Chromacolour Cel Paint is still the market leader, with over 2,000 colors held in inventory at any one time. We have also produced custom palettes for many major studios, including Disney, Universal, Hanna Barbera and Warner Bros. Chromacolour Cel Paints are recognized as the industry standard.
