Your challenge! Selecting your piece to paint:
We carry a variety of pottery designs, both in the standard white colour as well as our new Terra Cotta colour and we are adding new shapes regularly. We also stock special occasion pieces at Valentines, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Whether you’re looking for kitchenware, dinnerware, a vase, a ballerina, a hockey player or a pet dish, we’ve got all sizes and shapes of pottery to choose from. When you’ve selected a piece, our staff will help you get started painting.
- The creative process:
Bring an idea from home or design as your mood dictates. Use "google" here at our inspiration centre, or at home and find something you'd like to paint. Print it off or bring a copy with you.
If you don't want to use freehand, we'll provide tracing paper and you can use our special Lightbox to trace your artwork. Please note that all pencil marks burn off in the kiln. If this is your first visit, we'll walk you through the various techniques and provide you with what you need ... from stencils, sponges, dot painters or any other available tools to help you create your masterpiece.
- Choosing ChromaColour Eco-Coat colours:
We have 90 non-toxic, lead-free eco-conscious colours and speckled colours to choose from and we make the paint (underglaze) right here on our premises. Because the paint changes colour in the kiln firing process, (this is what happens in the kiln when it's close to 2000 degrees!l) we have a painted tile wall to show you what the colour will look like once it has been fired.

- When you are done, we'll fire it!
When you’re happy with your painted masterpiece, we'll dip it in a clear glaze (also made by ChromaColour) after you leave and we'll fire it in our kiln and have it ready for you to pick up in a few days. The clear glaze makes your piece food safe.
- How deep do you dig into your pocketbook?
Not very deep! Our price range is $9 and up. There is no other fee and everything is provided here including an apron if you wish. There is also no time limit. Want a private function or party? Call and reserve your time, late afternoon, evenings and weekends. Most functions run 2-3 hours.
*** We also offer ceramic painting with acrylic paints which are non-fired pieces but also non-functional.
Use as much paint as you like, and stay as long as you wish - it’s all included in the price of your pottery piece. If you don't finish in one sitting, that's ok, you can leave it with us and come back and finish it later. There is no additional cost.
