The Animation Supplies Aluminum Armature is made from components specifically designed for this purpose. This armature is made up of three strands of twisted 2mm aluminum wire which is protected by heat shrink tubing. This ensures that the armature is far harder wearing than cheaper alternatives.
The Aluminum Armature kit comes complete with everything you’ll need to make your own armature. It has been designed so that it can be easily constructed to meet most character designs. It is largely constructed from high quality aluminum, making it very lightweight. It includes Stainless Steel feet which come complete with a standard threaded tie-down system and are fully compatible with the magnetic systems that we offer.
This armature is an excellent choice for anyone starting out in stop motion animation. It is easy to work with and offers a full range of movements. It is also a great choice for any background or minor characters where a full ball and socket joint armature isn’t necessary.

Our Standard Armature kit comes complete with everything you need to make your own armature. It is easily assembled and has been designed to meet most character designs. As well as double jointed ball and socket joints, the armature features fixed joints, which have just one pivot point allowing for natural human movement. Similarly the armature also includes toe joints which will enable you to produce more natural walk cycles compared to the flat footed walk cycles associated with other armatures. The kit also includes a standard threaded tie-down system and is also fully compatible with the magnetic systems that we offer.
The Standard Armature is made almost entirely from hard wearing stainless steel. It includes threaded plates which offer a more compact joint than previous generations of our Standard Armatures. It also features hard wearing wire hands which come complete with protective heat shrink tubing. The hands can be easily replaced allowing for hassle free maintenance

The 3rd generation Professional Armature provides smaller joints than our Standard Armature. This allows for more elegant anatomically correct characters.

Consisting of 12 precision made ball and socket joints, the Professional Armature is of exceptionally high quality. It is constructed almost entirely from hard wearing stainless steel and has been designed to be fully customisable. The joints of the Professional Armature are more than 30% smaller than those used in our Standard Armatures.
The kit comes complete with everything you will need to make your own armature. It is easily assembled and has been designed to meet most character designs. It features 6 fixed joints, which have just one pivot point enabling realistic movement. It also benefits from toe joints which will enable you to achieve realistic walk cycles. The kit also includes a standard threaded tie-down system and it is fully compatible with our optional magnetic systems.
The Professional Armature utilises wire hands which come complete with hard wearing heat shrink tubing. The hands are also easily replaceable ensuring hassle free maintenance.

The ProPlus Armature is an exciting product packed full of features demanded by top animators.

The ProPlus Armature is an exceptional product, crammed full of exciting features. It consists of 14 precision made ball and socket joints which are made from hard wearing stainless steel. As with our Professional Armature the joints are more than 30% smaller than those of our Standard Armatures.
Like our Professional Armature, the ProPlus benefits from toe joints as well as 8 fixed joints, both of which enable realistic movement. In addition to these features the ProPlus also includes rigging points, ball jointed wrists, additional spinal flexibility as well as improved joint configuration which allows for full shoulder articulation.
The rigging points can be used in conjunction with our optional rigging system to help achieve animation of the highest quality. Rigging is used regularly in the top animation studios. It enables animators to create the illusion of defying gravity and accomplish effects like flying, running and jumping.
The ball jointed wrists are expertly engineered. They have been designed to incorporate the armature's hands and include recesses into which wire fingers are screwed into place. The fingers come complete with hard wearing protective heat shrink tubing.

These eyes are beautifully realistic and add that perfect finishing touch to your character. They are tear-dropped shaped, but are easily modified to enable animation. This is done by simply filing off the rear section of the eye to produce a more rounded shape. Many customers however, find that they are fine just the way they are. They are sold in pairs.

Although less powerful than the Professional system, our Standard magnetic tie-down system is still capable of holding 10KG of steel. This is more than enough for most applications.

The system is compatible with all of our Armatures as well as our rigging system.

This is an excellent system which is so powerful that it is supplied in a special protective aluminum housing. The magnets have the amazing capacity of holding 35KG of iron. This is the type of system used in Professional animation studios.

This system is compatible with all of our Armatures as well as our rigging system.
